Inter-institutional agreement signed for the protection of personal data
The Agency for Information and Privacy, the Office of the State Prosecutor, the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, and the Association of Kosovo Journalists have signed an inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement for the protection of personal data and the respect of the right to privacy in the context of public communication and media reporting.
Within the framework of the agreement, the institutions will commit to preventing unauthorized publications of personal data in the media and public, undertaking actions to strengthen the regulations of subordinate acts of institutions regarding personal data protection, as well as increasing professional capacities for officials of institutions and the media.
"The agreement aims to address concerns about the dissemination or publication of personal data in the media and third parties, except in cases where such an action is based on a clear legal provision or special authorization from the competent judicial authority," the statement reads./KosovaPress.
