The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate (IQMT) has increased the intensity of market inspections with the arrival of the spring season, aiming to ensure product safety and protect consumers.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Trade, the inspections have mainly focused on machinery products, personal protective equipment, children’s toys, and other products that pose a potential risk to health and safety.

During field inspections, inspectors identified and removed from the market a large number of unsafe products, which were confiscated due to a lack of technical documentation and exceeding their usage expiry date.

According to IQMT, the confiscated products include: 13 drilling machines (drills), 5 angle grinders, 426 discs for cutting iron and concrete, 251 reflective safety vests, 114 work helmets, 176 welding masks, 11 paint and varnish products, as well as 931 children’s toys.

IQMT emphasized that it will continue field inspections, calling on economic operators to comply with legal standards, while urging citizens to report any suspected cases of unsafe products.
