Indictment over Facebook post, suspect in Kosovo accused of inciting religious hatred
The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment against the defendant with the initials I.K. for the criminal offense of “Incitement to Division and Intolerance.”
According to the prosecution’s statement, the defendant is suspected of intentionally taking actions through the social network Facebook on April 16, 2026, with the aim of inciting and publicly spreading hatred and intolerance among religious groups.
The indictment alleges that through his actions, I.K. publicly spread hatred and intolerance between religious groups, undermining interfaith coexistence in the Republic of Kosovo and endangering public order and peace.
According to a statement by the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, the criminal case will be reviewed by the Basic Court in Prishtina, which will decide on the charges filed.
