His statements about the constitutional situation in the country sparked numerous reactions and interpretations.
However, former LDK activist Halil Geci says he did not threaten anyone and that everything he said was merely a hypothetical example.
According to Geci, his statement was only a hypothetical comparison meant to explain a possible situation.
“My opinion is what I said — I did not threaten anyone. On the contrary, I am a strong defender of institutions, but I expressed an opinion about what jurists are saying. Even jurists — Baraliu says this is a form of coup. Me as well, and Enver Hasani. This was a hypothetical statement, like saying the president had gone to the Moon or to Mars, had been killed by aliens, or slipped on ice and broken her leg — but she has not broken her leg. I mean, they have taken these things so seriously, even the Presidency, that you wouldn’t expect a jurist who himself helped draft that constitution to react like this. Perhaps he thinks that way, that he knows better than me, since I am not a jurist, because he helped make those things. This was hypothetical. My family and I have always been defenders of the constitution, defenders of the state — during the war, during the time of the Kaçanik Constitution, and today as well. We have congratulated both the president and the presidency. But I expressed my opinion, as I heard it from jurists. If she had been in Turkey, or on Mars, or slipped on ice and broken her leg — she took it like that. Who am I as a factor that I could make such a call? Who am I? What would happen? Who am I? I am a 70-year-old man — do people really listen to me? Leave those things aside because these are tricks the Presidency has made now, as it does not know how to get out of the situation it has entered. It got into this and now does not know how to get out. On the contrary, if today they called me to defend the institutions, I would go out and do it. But what I think, I will say to everyone — even to my son, my child, my brother — I do not spare anyone,” said Geci.
Regarding this reaction, the Presidency of the Republic of Kosovo strongly condemned the language calling for the shooting of President Vjosa Osmani.
