The American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, has requested the postponement of the decision to ban the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo.

Hovenier announced that today he met the governor of CBK, Ahmet Ismaili, while emphasizing that they respect the Constitution of Kosovo, however, he added that the decision to use only the euro currency in terms of cash operations has consequences for Serbian citizens in Kosovo, so it required some time and preparation so that the affected populations are not negatively affected.

Hovenier made these comments after participating in the inauguration of the central educational nodes within RIT Kosovo, which are supported by USAID./KosovaPress/
