This was said tonight at a commemorative academy on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of Nuhi Berisha and Rexhep Mala, organized under the auspices of the Government.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke about the figure of the heroes Mala and Rexhepi as part of the resistance and efforts of the Albanian people of Kosovo for freedom and independence. He also quoted parts from the book "Qëndresa - kujtime nga burgu" by Rexhep Mala, written between 1975-1983.
Kurti has called the systematic persecution and violence of the Serbian state against Albanian activists for freedom and independence a political inquisition during the 20th century.The daughter of Rexhep Mala, Fitore Mala, gave a speech on behalf of the Mala and Berisha families.
In this academy, the accomplice Mehmet Hajrizi, the accomplice of the hero Nuhi Berisha, Gafurr Elshani and the co-sufferer of the prison with Rexhep Mala, Skënder Kastrati, spoke about the life and work of the heroes Mala and Berisha.
Between January 11 and 12, 1984, 33-year-old Rexhep Malaj, less than eight months after being released from a nine-year prison term, together with his friend Nuhi Berisha, who was a 23-year-old student at the time and a participant in the 1981 demonstrations, fell heroically in battle with the Serbian forces on the "Kodra e Trimave" in Prishtina.Moreover, during the day Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Culture Hajrullah Çeku, stayed in the houses of the families of Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha, and declared Rexhep Mala's house a protected asset of cultural heritage. /KosovaPress/
