The Minister of Justice Albulena Haxhiu has announced that she has received the report of the inspectorate of this institution regarding the implementation of the procedures within the Kosovo Correctional Service regarding the death of Astri Dehari.
She said in a press conference that the report shows that violations and contradictory actions were found, which according to her leave great doubts about the manipulation of evidence, therefore she called on the prosecution to take measures to reveal the truth in the case of the activist, Dehari.
Haxhiu said that the Inspectorate has dealt with the imposition of measures against the responsible persons and their transfers to the detention center in Lipjan.According to her, instead of the immediate suspension of the responsible staff at the detention center in Prizren, they continued to work until November 21, 2016, which Haxhiu said leaves room for manipulation of evidence and testimonies.
