The European Union will lift punitive measures against Kosovo on Monday, March 2, said the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu.

After the meeting of the Presidency of the Assembly, she said that she welcomes this action by the European Union, albeit late, KosovaPress reports.

“Our information is that a decision will be made in this direction today. As the Speaker of the Assembly, I welcome the lifting of unjust measures, albeit late,” said Haxhiu after the meeting of the Presidency of the Assembly.

The European Union (EU) imposed punitive measures against Kosovo in June 2023. The measures were imposed in response to tensions in the north of Kosovo, inhabited by a Serb majority, after the Albanian mayors of the four municipalities in the north took office./KosovaPress/
