The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has said that he is not satisfied with the result of the Coalition for a Victorious Kosovo in the February 9 elections, while ruling out the possibility of a coalition with the Vetevendosje Movement.

At a press conference on Monday, he said that they will reflect on this result, but nevertheless stressed that if based on the total number of votes, the opposition has won the elections.

The parliamentary elections in Kosovo were held yesterday (Sunday), while 28 political parties with a total of 1,280 candidates for MPs were in the race.

“I admit that the result is not good. I am not satisfied with this result. However, I and the Alliance will reflect on this result, which is not good, and unfortunately it is not enough to help Kosovo in these processes that we have before us. We will continue this journey to give Kosovo an opposition government even in this situation. I had hoped that Kosovo would have a better opposition result, however, the truth is that the opposition has won the majority of votes compared to the ruling party. Even though it was in government for four years, it did not manage to keep its votes but lost a considerable number of citizens’ votes. This is a message for the rest of us to continue our path to change the country’s government”, he said.

Haradinaj stressed that despite the Vetevendosje Movement coming first with 41 percent of the votes, the opposition can form a government. He expressed himself categorically against the coalition with the Vetevendosje Movement.
