Gucati after defendant’s guilty plea: Anyone who insults the KLA will face lawsuits
The head of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization (OVL-UÇK), Hysni Gucati, said he will continue to pursue legal action against all individuals who insult the Kosovo Liberation Army and its veterans, after defendant Eqrem Avdullahu pleaded guilty to threatening him.
Gucati said he has also filed other lawsuits against individuals who have threatened him.
“You saw it yourselves, regarding the person who threatened and insulted me, and also claimed that I have been receiving a salary for nine years without working at a school. This is untrue and unfounded. I have left this case to justice, and justice will deal with this person. This is not the first case; I have filed many lawsuits, and other lawsuits will follow in the coming days. They have now arrived from Germany, Austria, and different countries, against those who have insulted the Kosovo Liberation Army and me personally, either as an individual or as the head of the veterans and war invalids organization. Therefore, I would call on every veteran or war invalid who feels insulted by these people who try to blackmail us and insult the KLA war, to file lawsuits. We do not need to argue among ourselves, but to file lawsuits. Every veteran, every martyr’s family, and every war invalid should file lawsuits, and we will turn to justice, which is the one that will make decisions regarding these individuals,” he said.
He announced that he has initiated lawsuits in Germany and Switzerland as well against other individuals who, according to him, have insulted the KLA and him personally.
Meanwhile, Gucati’s lawyer, Halim Shala, said their goal is for such cases to receive a legal outcome and for the integrity of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization to be protected.
