The Government of Kosovo has decided to request that the Assembly send members of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) as part of the International Stabilisation Force in Gaza.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said at today’s government meeting that the deployment of Kosovo’s military personnel to Gaza is based on an invitation received from the United States, as well as on the expression of political will within the Peace Board framework.

“The deployment of our military personnel there is based on coordination carried out after receiving an invitation from the United States Central Command in October last year, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the expression of political will within the Peace Board framework. All operations of our armed forces will be conducted in full compliance with the United Nations Charter, international humanitarian law, and other rules defined by this mission,” Kurti said.

On the other hand, the Minister of Defence, Ejup Maqedonci, said that through this engagement Kosovo demonstrates that it is a reliable partner and is ready to act alongside allies in support of peace, security, and civilian protection.

“Through this engagement, the Republic of Kosovo demonstrates that it is a reliable, responsible partner, ready to act alongside allies in support of peace, security, and the protection of civilians. This decision further strengthens our country’s international profile, affirms the professionalism of the KSF, and places our Republic among states that not only benefit from international security but also actively contribute to maintaining peace and international order,” he added.

In addition, the government also approved the Draft Law on Social and Affordable Housing. Through this, the Prime Minister said more effective and sustainable social policies for families in need are being created.

“This draft law represents an important and carefully considered step toward building a fair and sustainable system of affordable housing in Kosovo. It lays the foundations for modern housing policies by defining clear rules for the planning, implementation, and distribution of housing programmes, as well as fair criteria for beneficiaries. For the first time, an integrated framework is created that connects central and local institutions in a unified approach. This law is not merely a technical step, but a state step to ensure that no one is left without a housing solution,” Kurti stated.

The government also changed the composition of the Consumer Protection Council. Meanwhile, Shpëtim Dobra was appointed as chair of the supervisory board of the public enterprise “Trepça J.S.C.”
