The demolition of a petrol station located in Fushë Kosovë, in front of the AKI headquarters, has begun. The fuel station “Patroni” Sh.P.K., which was closed two years ago by decision of the Ministry of Agriculture, is being demolished today.
The Minister of Agriculture, Armend Muja, was also present during the demolition of the facility.
In a statement to the media, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Armend Muja, said that this project represents an important step toward creating better conditions for the functioning of the ministry.“Today, a court decision is being implemented. The property of the Ministry of Agriculture will be returned to the public and citizens. Initially, this space will be turned into a green area and will serve students and ministry staff, as these lands were part of the Kosovo Agricultural Institute. They will be used as spaces where, potentially, at the entrance of Pristina and near the airport, we will show the world that we can also implement innovative agricultural projects,” Muja said.
When asked whether the demolition of the petrol station could be linked to the election campaign, he said the project has no connection to elections, adding that planning for the works began in April, but procedures took longer than expected. Speaking to KosovaPress, the owner of the “Liria FC” warehouse, Viktor Cakiqi, responded to the minister’s statement that the properties were occupied illegally.“We are not occupiers, because we have been paying rent for 26 years. In fact, the minister himself told us that the contract would be extended for another two years. Then, two months later, we received notice to vacate the place. They are doing this only for the election campaign. We tried to talk with the ministry, but they did not accept. They gave us one month to vacate the property, and we left immediately,” he said.
