Mette Frederiksen became the first prime minister of Denmark to visit Albania. In the reception held by her Albanian counterpart, Edi Rama, the importance of cooperation between the two countries was emphasized. Both prime ministers declared that there are still areas where both countries can intensify cooperation.

After the meeting between them, as well as the meeting between the two delegations, Rama and Frederiksen gave a joint press conference.

Rama stated that Denmark has been by Albania's side in difficult moments such as the November 2019 earthquake, the COVID pandemic as well as after the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
