Four years in prison for Arsim Limani who attacked RTK journalist Alban Selimi

Arsim Limani has been sentenced to four years in prison, who is accused of serious attempted murder against RTK journalist Alban Selimi. This decision was taken today in a court session, where the jury said that the time of detention is also calculated for the convict.

After the announcement of the decision, the injured parties were satisfied with the length of the sentence.

The chairwoman of the trial body, judge Medie Bytyçi, announced that Arsim Limani is sentenced to four years in prison.

Also, he emphasized that the same is obliged to pay the expenses of the criminal procedure.

The defense lawyer of journalist Selimi, Kujtim Kirveshi, said that as the injured party, they are satisfied with the sentence.

He said that this sentence will serve as a culture for all those who attack freedom of speech.

Even the victim, Alban Selimi, said that he is satisfied with the sentence, but that he still does not know the motive of the person as to why he committed the crime.

Selimi also mentioned the loss of a CD during the judicial process. He said he is waiting to know the reason why that CD was lost.

According to the Prosecution's file, the convict Arsim Limani tried to take Alban Selim's life by lighting a fire in the garage of his house.
