Four police officers suffered minor injuries during the arrest of a 45-year-old in the village of Samadraxhë, Suhareka, after the suspect attacked the police with a knife.

According to the Kosovo Police, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 08:30, when a citizen reported that the suspect, B.K., 45, from Samadraxhë, had blocked “Ramush Kotori” street by placing metal rods stuck into the ground and connected with wire, preventing residents from moving freely, KosovaPress reports.

After receiving the complaint, police patrols immediately went to the scene. During the intervention, the suspect attacked police officers with a cold weapon – a knife.

The police responded immediately, neutralized the attack, and managed to arrest the suspect. During the arrest, due to his violent resistance, four police officers suffered minor bodily injuries, but not from the knife.

The suspect was taken to the Suharekë Police Station, and in consultation with the State Prosecutor, further procedural actions will be taken in accordance with the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
