In these books, familiar elements for children such as the earth, the bottle, and various animals come as interesting characters and tell children about the environment and its protection.
On this occasion, the EU ambassador in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog said that children should be informed about how to be friends with the earth.
“They’re illustrated stories are not just fun to read, they are about showing us that each of us can be a superhero for the earth. They have to understand that the planet needs our help and we can make a big difference by being good friend of our nature. We, the planet defenders we will meet characters who teach us how to be awesome friends for the environment, they will show us how simple things, like picking trash, or using less plastic bags can make a huge impact. It is like being part of the team to keep our planet happy and healthy. Arben’s stories are like treasure maps, guiding us to a future where everyone works together to take care of the earth. So, let's dive into these books with curious mind and open heart. Let's get ready for the adventure, that is not just about reading but actually of becoming real-life planet defenders", said Szunyog.Whereas the author of this children's book, Arben Kllokoqi, described to the children how waste is not only harmful to the environment, but also to humans.
He said that responsibility for environmental protection is necessary.
"What should always be with you is the responsibility or duties you have to protect the environment where you live. This is about not throwing away waste, separating and recycling it. It is also about turning off the light in the house, when it is not being used in the room. So, with small things, if you do them all, they have a big impact", said Kllokoqi. After reading the book, at the end the author started asking the students about climate change and how they memorized the characters and did an experiment about the importance of the environment. This activity is part of the campaign For Good Energy/For Good Environment which the office of the European Union in Kosovo implements to promote a green future. /A. Shala
