Acting Foreign Minister of Kosovo Glauk Konjufca met with France’s Minister Delegate for Europe, Benjamin Haddad, with whom he signed five agreements.
Konjufca said that France has been and remains an important partner of Kosovo since the country declared independence.
Haddad said his visit to Pristina today gives new momentum to relations between Kosovo and France.
“I think it is important to remember that our support and friendship go back a long way. As I said, I have considered myself a personal friend of Kosovo for a long time. When I was elected as an MP in 2022, I decided to join the France-Kosovo Friendship Group in the National Assembly, precisely because of this shared history and because I strongly believe that a strong, peaceful and sovereign Europe is a united Europe that includes the entire region. I am pleased that in recent years we have worked to strengthen our bilateral relations. My visit today gives new momentum to these relations. I am pleased that we have signed five comprehensive agreements aimed at advancing a positive agenda in relations between our two countries. These agreements are concrete and create prospects for long-term cooperation, as we also discussed during our meeting, paving the way for further deepening our relations. Several French companies and the French Development Agency (AFD) have also come with me because they believe in the cooperation we can build together. We can strengthen our trade relations, French investments in Kosovo and create more business opportunities between our two countries. The support provided by the French Development Agency (AFD) to Kosovo is already substantial: €80 million for the energy transition and the fight against climate change,” Haddad said.
