EUROPOL 'lands' in Kosovo: Five arrested, weapons and drugs seized

Five people were arrested as part of a police operation codenamed “White Star,” carried out on Tuesday at several locations across Kosovo, KosovaPress reports.

According to the Kosovo Police, the operation was conducted in Pristina, Peja, Prizren, Viti, and Drenas, under the supervision of the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo and based on an order issued by the Basic Court.

By decision of the special prosecutor, the five suspects have been detained for 48 hours on suspicion of involvement in the criminal offenses of participation in or organization of an organized criminal group, unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution and sale of narcotics, as well as money laundering.

During the searches, authorities seized material evidence and various assets, including six firearms, five magazines, 239 rounds of ammunition, 9.67 grams of suspected cocaine, 35.18 grams of suspected marijuana seeds, 25 mobile phones, €7,595 in cash, 10 vehicles, one motorcycle, 10 computers, 13 USB devices, one DVR, and 16 wristwatches.

According to the police, the operation was supported by Europol and law enforcement authorities from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Representatives of these institutions, together with the case prosecutor, monitored the operation from the scene.

The Special Prosecution Office and the Kosovo Police reiterated their commitment to combating organized crime and strengthening the rule of law, emphasizing that they will continue coordinated efforts to prevent, investigate, and prosecute criminal offenses in accordance with the applicable legislation.
