This week, the European Parliament published the study "Identifying Fake News and Misinformation in the Western Balkans, and Identifying Effective Ways to Fight Them". The study was initiated by the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee as a continuation of the EU institutions' efforts to strengthen democratic processes and combat fake news and disinformation campaigns in the Balkans. The study was coordinated by the EP's Directorate-General for Foreign Affairs, and the authors are academics and researchers from the Royal University of London.
