Today, energy efficiency measures were inaugurated in the social multi-apartment buildings in the Municipality of Malisheva. The ceremony was attended by the acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, Alessandro Bianciardi from the European Union Office in Kosovo, the Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, and the Mayor of Malisheva, Ekrem Kastrati.
Under the slogan “Let’s save energy for future generations,” the importance of improving living conditions and reducing energy costs for beneficiary families was emphasized, while simultaneously contributing to environmental protection and more efficient use of energy resources. Acting Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli stated that the government’s goal is to reduce energy consumption across all sectors of society.
Alessandro Bianciardi, representative of the EU Office, also highlighted that works are being carried out on 28 other buildings as part of this project.
“This is one of the 28 social buildings being renovated under the energy support package and is a good demonstration of the renovation effect needed in other communal buildings in Kosovo. We are pleased that the Energy Efficiency Fund has made good progress in implementing this project and in all the other 28 buildings being renovated. This investment is financed 90% by the European Union and 10% contribution by the municipality.”“Today we celebrate a privilege because we are inaugurating a building for social categories, a population that is very much in need. Therefore, I thank all actors who contributed to the realization of this project on behalf of all citizens of Malisheva and especially on behalf of the residents who are now enjoying this investment. This investment plays a very important role because it improves the quality of life for residents of the social category, but it also reduces energy consumption, so for us these are two extraordinary benefits. Additionally, the building has received a much-improved appearance.”
This project in Malisheva was realized in cooperation between the Government, the European Union, and the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, as part of ongoing efforts to increase energy efficiency standards in the country. /KosovaPress
