Elezi: Candidates for MPs will be subject to verification by various institutions

By verification, the Central Election Commission (CEC) will verify whether the candidates competing for MPs are in accordance with the Law on General Elections and its article 30.
According to the CEC spokesman, Valmir Elezi, the CEC will also address the Kosovo Judicial Council to verify if any of the candidates for MPs has been convicted in the last three years by a final decision for a criminal offense, with one or more effective imprisonment, and who will not be able to run for MP.
Elezi also told KosovaPress that the verification of candidates before certification is a legal requirement and that this process will be done in cooperation with state institutions such as KJC, ECAP, MIA and other institutions depending on the nature of the verification required by law.
