The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, will meet today with the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, regarding the issue of electing the country’s president, KosovaPress reports.

The place and time of the meeting have not yet been announced. Kurti’s recent meetings with leaders of political parties have been held at the premises of the Assembly of Kosovo.

At the General Council of his party, Kurti said that given the short timeframe for electing the president, he has immediately begun efforts to overcome this challenge by initiating meetings with parliamentary political entities.

On Saturday, Kurti met for the second time with the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, regarding the presidential issue. Likewise, on Monday, Kurti is scheduled to meet Lumir Abdixhiku.

After Saturday’s meeting with Kurti, Hamza said he had proposed to the leader of Vetëvendosje (LVV) that the candidate for president be nominated by PDK.
