Dollenberg: The fourth dose of anti-COVID vaccine can prevent a new wave
The Ministry of Health has announced that the application of the fourth dose of the anti-COVID vaccine will start soon in Kosovo, and this was welcomed by the President of the Federation of Albanian Doctors in Europe, Aurora Dollenberg, who says that in it will be prevented any possible outbreak of any new COVID wave in autumn.
In an interview for KosovaPress, she says that currently the situation with COVD is a little more worrying.
""It is true that the situation is seeming to become a little more worrying as the figures as we noticed last year during the summer period has a tendency to increase. According to the statistics so far, for the autumn period and to prevent this experience so far, a slightly more intensive vaccination has started to be planned both for Kosovo and for other countries. It is known that more than 90% of the European population is already vaccinated and over 70% of the population have received three doses, so in Germany, where I live but also in other European countries, the fourth dose has become standard. Meanwhile, Kosovo, fortunately, is starting to implement this, as a tendency for the vaccinated with three doses to receive a reinforcing dose to prevent the autumn outbreaks", stressed Dollenberg".
The family medicine specialist considers that in Kosovo the percentage of vaccination against coronavirus is low, therefore considers that the introduction of measures including wearing a mask is the right solution to prevent the spread of the virus.
