Di Lellio: Trepca was the beginning of the end of Yugoslavia
The Albanologist Anna Di Lellio, during a lecture she gave today at the Institute of Albanology in Pristina, said that the miners' endurance and resistance was a key moment in the history of Kosovo, marking the beginning of the end of Yugoslavia.
With this lecture on the topic "The Oral Tradition in the 21st century" Di Lellio also marked the resumption of the "Albanological Lectures" program for the year 2025.
Texa spoke about her latest book "Yugoslavia collapsed in Trepca", Anna Di Lellio said that this book contains the stories of miners who have revealed the arrests, strikes, repression and dismissals during 1998.
The sociology professor, in a lecture she gave at the Institute of Albanology in Pristina, stated that the price for Kosovo to gain independence was very high with thousands of people killed, and women and men raped and disappeared.
Di Lellio, who wrote her books based on oral histories, spoke about her first book that she had written about the Battle of Kosovo.
She said that it was discovered that Milos Kopilic was Albanian and not Serb.
