The second edition of the academic event “Days of History” has begun today, where it was emphasized that the study of history is important for both the past and the future, while it was also highlighted that student interest in history has now increased.
This edition is organized by the Department of History at the University of Prishtina within the Faculty of Philosophy. The head of the department, Professor Mentor Haziri, officially opened “Days of History”, an event attended by professors, researchers, students, and guests from the region.
The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Professor Bekim Maliqi, emphasized the importance of studying history and its impact on building the future of society.
As part of the “Days of History” activity, certificates of appreciation were awarded to scholarship students of the department, which bear the name of the national hero and former history student Rustem Hyseni.Within the framework of the event, a lecture was also held by Selami Zalli, director of the Directorate for Citizens’ Requests and Rehabilitation Services at the Authority for Information on Documents of the former State Security, who stated that every citizen has the right to be informed about documents created by the former State Security during the communist period.
He emphasized that the purpose of the law is to establish historical truth, protect human rights, and prevent the re-victimization of people affected by the communist regime.
