Starting today (Monday), holders of Kosovo passports will be able to travel to the Schengen area without visas for short-term stays.

Citizens welcomed the visa liberalization, who said that free movement in EU countries is a great achievement after a long mistreatment. They feel happy that there will be no more restrictions and long waits in front of embassies.

This morning, the Government of Kosovo has organized the first visa-free trip for the 50 winners who won the trip to Vienna, Austria.

Citizen Avdyl Spahiu said that this free movement is deserved earlier, since according to him there have been various challenges, always conditional.

Another citizen, Adhurim Bajrami, said that it is now much easier without a visa, because according to him, there will be no expenses and there will be no loss of time.

Meanwhile, Jeton Kosumi told KosovaPress that citizens have been mistreated in front of embassies for 24 years.

Xheladin Halimi said that visa liberalization has been a protracted process. He said that applying for visas has been difficult and expensive for citizens.

Likewise, Loreta Vitija expressed her happiness as a citizen of Kosovo who now can travel visa free. She said that now the youth has the opportunity to have this freedom of movement in the countries of the European Union.
