Christmas is one of the most important celebrations in the Christian holiday calendar, which is celebrated every December 25 to commemorate the birth of the savior Jesus Christ.

The one after Easter is the most important holiday for Christians. The importance of Christmas Day began to grow slowly after the Coronation of Charlemagne in 800 on Christmas Day.

Today, Christmas Day is celebrated with the display of the nativity scene, the Christmas tree, the exchange of gifts and cards, the united family, and the arrival of Saint Nicholas or the New Year's Eve on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning.

In Christian history, the birth of Jesus brings about the miracle of the incarnation: God makes himself fully human by taking the form of a helpless child. But something wonderful actually happens in every birth.

In fact, we must learn to see every birth as a promise to save the world from the brutality and violence of death. Birth is not simply a natural event that responds to the universal laws of life.

On the occasion of this holiday, the Bishopric of Kosovo will organize a reception today from 18:00 at the "BogdaniPolis" Center at the "Saint Mother Teresa" Cathedral, where representatives of state institutions, the diplomatic corps and people of culture, art and friends are expected to come.

At 23:30 the Christmas program in the Cathedral starts, which lasts until midnight. At 24:00, the solemn Christmas Mass will be held, which will be led by Monsignor Dodë Gjergji.

On Monday, from 11:00, mass will be held in the "St. Mother Teresa" Cathedral, while from 18:00, mass will be held in the "St. Ndout" Church in "Ulpiana", Prishtina.
