The additional punishments that are planned to be included as amendments to the Penal Code for the criminal offenses of domestic violence, sexual harassment and rape, are considered to be contrary to the Constitution of Kosovo and an attempt to criminalize people's civil rights.

It is believed that these sanctions will not have an effect on the reduction of these criminal offenses, that is why the toughening of the punishments for the perpetrators of these offenses is required.

The proposals of the Ministry of Justice, which were then voted on by the Government of Kosovo, include additional punishments such as: a ban on running for public office from 3-10 years; ban on public employment at all levels; the ban on obtaining a driver's license for the person who has been found guilty of these crimes; ban on applying as a strategic investor from 3-10 years. In cases where we are dealing with rape and sexual assault, the limits of mitigation of punishments will not be applied, it is also foreseen that the right to use a vehicle and drive a vehicle from 1 to 5 years for the person found guilty for the criminal offense of rape.
