The Central Election Commission today certified four citizens’ initiatives and five independent candidates for the October 12 local elections.

In this meeting, the new initiative of the mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, was also certified. In the October 12 elections, he will run independently.

Besnik Buzhala, from the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission, said that according to verifications under the law on general elections, this initiative does not conflict with the legal requirements.

“This initiative, according to verifications under the law on general elections, does not conflict with the legal requirements. In this regard, the office recommends certifying this political entity with this candidate,” said Buzhala.

The total number of political entities certified by the CEC as of August 14, 2025, is 19 political entities, of which 6 are citizens’ initiatives and 13 are independent candidates, with a total of 130 candidates — 9 candidates for mayor and 121 for municipal assembly members.
