In Kosovo, 15 percent more cases of domestic violence were recorded during the pandemic. Prosecutions failed to solve cases during 2020 for more than 1200 people. Even though Kosovo has a good legislation, in cases of domestic violence there is a difference in treatment, procedure and qualification of the criminal offense. This is stated in the report on "Criminal investigations and punitive policy in cases of domestic violence" published by the Initiative for Justice and Equality.
