Birth rate decreases while divorces increase in Kosovo

In February 2026, a total of 2,002 births were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of these, 1,030 were male births and 972 were female.

According to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, in February 2026 there was a decrease in the number of births of about 13.3% compared to January 2026.

“During February 2026, a total of 901 deaths were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of the total registered deaths, 463 were male and 438 were female. Compared to January 2026, in February 2026 there were 21.2% fewer registered deaths,” the report of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics states.
