The Kosovo Police have warned citizens about a fraudulent campaign currently circulating via text messages (SMS), which falsely claim to have been sent by the so-called Kosovo Traffic Authorities. These messages contain deceptive links intended to mislead and defraud citizens, reports KosovaPress.

The Kosovo Police stress that they have not sent such messages and urge citizens to:

not click on any suspicious links;

not share personal information or bank card details;

not make payments through these links;

immediately delete fraudulent messages; and

if any payment has been made through such links, immediately report the case to their bank and request the cancellation of the transaction. The case should also be reported to the nearest police station.

The Kosovo Police stated that they remain committed to preventing and combating fraud, while calling on citizens to cooperate and remain especially vigilant.
