The decision of the Kosovo Basketball Federation (KBF) not to allow guest fans in sport halls during basketball matches remains in force also during this edition.

This decision came because of several incidents during 2023 in sports halls, where there was also physical violence between fans.

The representatives of the basketball clubs are divided on not allowing guest fans in the sport halls.

Arbnor Rifati from Prizren basketball club, told KosovaPress that the KBF decision is one of the best that can be taken against this situation.

Contrary to Rifati, the spokesperson of the Peja basketball club, Ardit Lipa, says that despite respecting the federation's decision, the ban on fans is causing them financial damage as the lack of visiting fans is important in terms of ticket sales.

The president of the Kosovo Basketball Federation, Arben Fetahu, has extinguished all hopes that this decision can be changed. According to him, acts of violence in sports halls are seriously damaging the image of Kosovar basketball.

The head of the KBF has also criticized the justice bodies for inefficiency in dealing with acts of hooliganism and this, according to him, is causing them to be constantly repeated.

According to Fetahu, this is the most difficult decision on the part of the KBF, but the only other alternative would be to stop the competition and this would have much more serious consequences. /A.Bytyçi/
