The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has said that with the dangers that are threatening Europe and the Middle East, the fragility of peace everywhere in the world is evident.

The head of government during his speech at the conference of the Universal Peace Federation, where "Peace, stability and demographic transition in the Western Balkans" is being discussed, said that Kosovo has seen progress during his government, considering that it is a leader in the region in terms of democracy.

"Peace in our region and especially in Kosovo is something that we have never taken for granted. We had to fight and strive constantly for it. With the dangers that are threatening Europe and the Middle East, the fragility of peace everywhere in the world is evident. Peace is mainly destabilized from the outside, but it is also a work that is done from the inside. Here I no longer doubt the will of a people to build and strengthen peace", he said.

He mentioned the economic growth, as well as the increase in exports and the increase in employment.

"Kosovo has seen progress like never before in these last three years, the average economic growth is at the level of 6.2 percent. The economy of the country, namely the Gross Domestic Product that we are talking about today is six times larger than in 2000. We are not taking into account the year '99 of the war, the return of refugees to their homes and three times greater than in 2008 when we declared Independence. Foreign exports and investments have doubled and the export-import ratio compared to 2021 has improved to better than 1 to 6, from 1 to 9 at that time. We have an increase in employment of over 21 percent", said Kurti.

Kurti, while talking about visa liberalization for Kosovo, emphasized that exactly as they had foreseen, the visa liberalization for Kosovo has not increased migration, but according to him, on the contrary, there are people who go only regularly, and more and more people who return.

"We are trying not only to make our beloved Kosovo a place where the youth stay, but also for our compatriots to return. My impression is that it is not in the nature of man to spend his whole life living in one country, nor to grow old speaking only his mother tongue… Exactly as we predicted, the visa liberalization for Kosovo has not increased migration, on the contrary, there are people who go only regularly, and more and more people who return. On this occasion, I appeal once again to our diaspora that unlike three decades ago when we told you to contribute by sacrificing, now we tell you to invest and to win", said Kurti.
