In Kosovo, another case with the African variant COVID-19 has been confirmed. This was announced by the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPHK). NIPHK have announced that the patient is hospitalized at the Infectious Diseases Clinic. In NIPHK Microbiology laboratories, an average of thousands of samples are tested on a daily basis. From the samples tested for SARS-CoV-2, one case with the African variant of SARS CoV-2: South Africa (S.A) Lineage B.11351 (N501Y) (WHO label: Beta) has been confirmed.
