A serious incident occurred in Restelicë, Dragash, where a man, around 30 years old, is suspected of having killed his mother. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday. The case was confirmed to KosovaPress by the spokesperson of the Police for the Prizren region, Shaqir Bytyqi.
According to the Kosovo Police, the suspect has been arrested and preliminary information indicates that he had mental health issues.
The Police statement also notes that, during the initial examination at the scene, the weapon allegedly used in the crime was not found, while the victim sustained several injuries to the head.
“On 21.01.2025, at approximately 01:06, the Police were notified of a suspicious death in the village of Restelicë, Dragash Municipality. According to initial information, a male, around 30 years old, is suspected of taking the life of his mother, approximately 60 years old. The suspect, according to preliminary data, had mental health problems. The initial examination at the scene did not reveal the weapon allegedly used to commit the crime, while the victim suffered several injuries to the head. The suspect has been arrested by the Police and detained for further legal procedures. The Regional Investigation Sector, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, is taking all necessary investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances of this case,” Shaqir Bytyqi stated.
