Should Vjosa Osmani return to the LDK? This is Isa Mustafa’s answer

Former Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader Isa Mustafa has called on parliamentary parties to cooperate in electing the president.

He said that, in order to avoid new elections, a political agreement is needed on a consensus figure for president, adding that there are many such personalities, but the problem is whether political parties are willing to find a solution.

“If we want to elect, or if we as government and opposition are ready to elect the president, then there must be space for agreement. Both sides should sit down and jointly agree on a personality who would perform this role without political bias… There are many such people, but the problem is whether we are ready to sit down and find a solution,” he said.

The former Prime Minister of Kosovo stressed that parliamentary parties could elect the president without the need for new elections, as, according to him, there would not be major changes.

“I think yes, if there is willingness. If political parties believe it is in their interest to go to elections again, or for the ruling party to increase its support or the opposition to use the opportunity to change numbers, then we will go to elections… I do not see major changes, but I cannot speak about the political mood of the parties,” Mustafa said.

Meanwhile, Mustafa was more reserved when commenting on the possibility of Vjosa Osmani returning to the LDK.

“I would ask for your understanding because today is a completely different topic and I would not want to link what we opened today at the academy with specific names, who aims for what and what they will do in the future… I see you are insisting, but I will not comment on Vjosa,” Mustafa stated.

These comments were made after the promotion of his book “The Economic Convergence of Kosovo with the EU.”

The book promotion was attended by MPs, officials, and former senior LDK figures, but not by the current party leader Lumir Abdixhiku.

Mustafa said that those who attended the event were those who chose to come.We did not invite anyone. We had a book presentation, and those who wanted to come attended, and we worked on it for a long time,” he concluded.
