In a press conference after the meeting with Merkel and counterparts of five other countries of the region, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, stated that today they are welcoming a friend, but, at the same time, it is a sad day as it is her last visit as Chancellor of Germany.

Rama said that no one has done more for the Western Balkans than Chancellor Merkel and that no one has understood the region like her.
