Their rebuttals before the court in The Hague today were also presented by the defense of Jakup Krasniqi, which said that the testimonies will lead the court to declare Krasniqi not guilty.
Krasniqi’s lawyer, Aidan Ellis, expressed confidence in the judges in The Hague.
During his statement before the court, Ellis dismissed the claims of the Special Prosecutor’s Office that Jakup Krasniqi was a superior of Bislim Zyrap.
“We are confident that when you carry out this assessment, when you review the documents along with the witnesses’ testimonies, and when you rigorously apply the principle of the burden of proof, you will agree with the arguments we presented, and this will lead to Jakup Krasniqi being declared not guilty by you,” he said.
In addition to the defense of the former KLA leaders, after the lunch break today the four members of the Kosovo Liberation Army themselves—Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi—will address the court.
