The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) held an extraordinary meeting today, which was conducted behind closed doors.
On this occasion, the chairman Ardian Hajdaraj informed the KPC members about the receipt of the Supreme Court ruling, which declared the KPC’s decision to dismiss Acting Chief Prosecutor Besim Kelmendi as unlawful and arbitrary, KosovaPress reports.
In the KPC’s media statement, it is noted that issues related to the implementation of this ruling will be addressed in the next meeting.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court declared the KPC’s decision to dismiss Besim Kelmendi unlawful, noting that there was no quorum of six members when the decision was made.
Kelmendi’s dismissal occurred one day after his interview as a witness at the Special Prosecutor’s Office investigating the Reçak massacre. Kelmendi denied media reports that he had been a professional collaborator of Serbian judge Danica Marinkoviq, who handled the Reçak massacre case.
