The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has responded to former Alliance leader Ramush Haradinaj, who two days earlier claimed that Vetëvendosje was preparing protests against American gas.
Kurti dismissed the statement as false.
Asked by KosovaPress about Haradinaj’s claim, Kurti said that strong protests have always been organized by his party, but that Haradinaj’s statement, according to him, says more about Haradinaj himself and nothing about Vetëvendosje.
“I have seen that there have been some false reports claiming that the Vetëvendosje Movement is planning protests. Of course, the strongest protests have been organized by VV, and perhaps when people think of protests, they think of VV. However, this says nothing about us; it says something about them,” Kurti said.
Two days earlier, Haradinaj wrote: “Now, when the issue of gas has been reactivated, his people are preparing protests against American gas.”
Ramush Haradinaj also recalled in a social media post that on November 21, 2018, during his term as Prime Minister, the Government of Kosovo imposed a 100% tariff on goods imported from Serbia. According to him, the Kurti government’s decision to lift this measure on April 1, 2020, paved the way for Serbian goods to return to the Kosovo market.
In his post, he claimed that Kurti’s people are preparing protests against American gas.
