The finals of the All-National University Sports League marked another important chapter in the history of sports cooperation between the universities of Kosovo and Albania. The champion teams from each country, selected through their respective national competitions, faced off in the super finals held in Durrës in a friendly, yet competitive and passionate sports atmosphere, as reported by KosovaPress.
The competitions began with 3×3 basketball and men’s volleyball, but there were also other disciplines such as futsal, ping pong, tennis, chess, beach volleyball, and more.
Public interest in witnessing this joint Kosovo-Albania event was quite high.
The President of the University Sports Federation of Kosovo, Musa Selimi, stated that this is how the integration of certain sports is being achieved, noting that there are now ten such integrated sports.
He added that this serves as an extra motivation for students to become champions in the all-national competitions, and then to seek the same success in international competitions in which they will participate.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Kosovo, Florian Miftari, emphasized the significant impact of such a competition, demonstrating the strong connection between this faculty and the University Sports Federation, aimed at giving students additional motivation for their performances.
Kosovo excelled in this competition, winning ten trophies and taking first place in most disciplines such as men’s and women’s volleyball, 3×3 basketball in both genders, women’s ping pong, beach volleyball, men’s tennis, and men’s chess.
