The proposed candidate of the Vetëvendosje Movement for president, Glauk Konjufca, stated that both VV and he himself would vote for a presidential candidate proposed by the opposition parties in order to prevent the country from going to elections, reports KosovaPress.
As he said, he would even vote for President Vjosa Osmani. Meanwhile, he added that if the opposition does not propose any neutral candidate, in his view, this is a clear decision on their part to go to elections.
Konjufca expressed curiosity about the name the opposition would vote for if it is not his.
“It was Vetëvendosje’s proposal, and now we move forward. The best scenario is for the opposition to make its own proposal. If they propose a name, I might even vote for it, someone else in my place, but no one is proposing anyone, neither PDK nor LDK. I am very curious to see who they would vote for if it’s not me. VV will also vote to prevent going to elections. But they need to put forward a name, to show us who it is if VV doesn’t propose it. I am convinced they won’t be able to propose a neutral person,” Konjufca said.
Furthermore, Konjufca stated that VV is not proposing two candidates in order to leave room for the opposition to propose. If no one is proposed, the process will continue according to procedures.
“We are not doing it because the opposition must propose… Then we will see and continue according to procedures. The reason we left it like this is for the opposition to propose one, our candidate, and then we continue. There are many people better prepared than me, let them propose someone—Vjosa Osmani or whoever they want—and I will vote, but they do not want to propose anyone. If the opposition does not suggest any name, then this is a clear decision to go to elections, by the opposition, not us,” Konjufca said.
