Haradinaj: Kurti is a fraudster, his stance towards the dialogue is dangerous

Former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj considers dangerous and wrong approach of the head of the Government of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in the process of dialogue with Serbia. Haradinaj told KosovaPress that in yesterday’s meeting in front of the Serbian side in Brussels, Kurti had to go with only one-item, mutual recognition.

The chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) calls Kurti an “ordinary fraudster”.

“This is exactly what we have warned of, the danger from the fraudster Kurti, so in this case Kurti is an ordinary fraudster and is deceiving the people of Kosovo with a dangerous approach to dialogue, not asking for the substance for which we intend dialogue but getting into unnecessary topics […] This is not a dialogue, it is a waste of time and deception for Kosovo, so it is not the focus on the main issue that remains mutual recognition which President Biden has clearly stated in his letter “, says Haradinaj.

According to Haradinaj, Kurti is restoring the dialogue to the beginning and is seeking to establish a new economic relationship with Serbia, more advanced than the initiative known as Minischengen.

“It is a dangerous approach of Prime Minister Kurti, so wrong, he is restoring the dialogue at the beginning, he is looking to create new economic and trade relations, more advanced than Mini-Schengen, which is a risk and at the same time it is a process that involves the EU and which gets prolonged, also he has the wrong approach to a peace agreement, what remains for Kosovo is the recognition, the prime minister should go with only one item on the agenda, mutual recognition and issues related to recognition, but not to relativize the issue of recognition with CEFTA and SEFTA issues “, says Haradinaj.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti participated for the first time in a meeting with the Serbian President, mediated by the European Union.

After the meeting in Brussels, Kurti wrote that he expressed his readiness for constructive dialogue and mutual recognition.

The chief executive said that they did not agree on the agenda of the dialogue, while he made public his proposals presented there.

”      1. The six countries of the Western Balkans are advancing CEFTA in SEFTA (South-East European Free Trade Agreement) according to the EFTA-EEA model, i.e., an agreement that Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland have with the EU.

  1. Kosovo and Serbia immediately sign a joint peace agreement pledging not to attack each other. This is important now as never before, a day after the NATO Summit in Brussels and the unanimous messages given there.
  2. After the mutual recognition between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia, in both our countries we will have bilateral reciprocity, including the issue of minorities here. So, Serbs in Kosovo can have their National Council as Albanians and Bosniaks in Serbia do.
  3. On the issue of missing persons, the head of the Serbian delegation, Mr. Veljko Odalovic who in 1997-1999, was the “A Chief of serbian forces for the Kosovo Region”, and led the occupation of Kosovo together with Mr. “Zoran Angelkovic”, said Kurti.

According to Prime Minister Kurti, the Serbian side did not respond to the first proposal, while at other points it rejected it.

The next meeting in Brussels is expected to be held on July 25.
