The President of the Basketball Federation of Kosovo, Arben Fetahu, highly praised the visit of FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa to Kosovo, describing it as evidence of close cooperation and continuous support for Kosovar basketball.
“His visit to Kosovo twice within a year shows the support he has given to the Basketball Federation of Kosovo, the appreciation he has for our sport here, and the way we are working in this regard. Naturally, it is also an acknowledgment of the state of Kosovo itself because he came to honor the sport and the country in general. The meetings he has held with the Olympic Committee, both yesterday and the last time, clearly show efforts to deepen cooperation at all levels,” Fetahu emphasized.
The head of the FBK added that the activities taking place these days are evidence of the federation’s commitment to developing basketball among youth, one of its main priorities.
“We hope that all these activities we are undertaking will not only serve what is called sports diplomacy, but also today’s meeting, which we held just a few minutes ago with the most important commission of FIBA Europe, the Youth Commission, and the presence of people here, as well as the development of the work we have done, I believe show and prove that the Basketball Federation continues to be fully committed to developing basketball among youth,” said Fetahu.
As part of Garbajosa’s visit, important meetings were held in Kosovo with representatives of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo and officials of the Basketball Federation, further deepening cooperation between FIBA Europe and FBK.
