Post of Kosovo, through its Philately department, has issued a new postage stamp series today titled “Distria Krasniqi,” honoring one of the greatest athletes our country has ever known.
This special philatelic issue is dedicated to the world and Olympic judo champion, Distria Krasniqi, who has been named the best female judoka in the world for 2025 across all categories.
“Born on December 10, 1995, Distria began her sports journey at a young age, bringing extraordinary achievements to Kosovo on the international stage. Since being crowned U21 world champion in 2015, she has shone in major tournaments such as the ‘Grand Slam’ in Paris and the ‘European Open’ in Sofia,” the announcement states.
In 2021, Distria claimed the gold medal at the “World Judo Masters” in Doha — a historic moment for Kosovar sports. At the “Budapest 2025” World Judo Championship, she continued to impress with a silver medal, reaffirming her status as an icon of our national sport.
Through this stamp issue, Post of Kosovo honors a story of success and inspiration, turning Distria’s image into a symbol that will travel beyond borders, as an ambassador of our national values.
Post of Kosovo notes that the design of the stamp and information on this issue were prepared in cooperation with the Judo Federation of Kosovo. The series includes one postage stamp and a First Day Cover and will remain in postal circulation until stocks are depleted.
