Distria Krasniqi has secured another major success for Kosovar judo, qualifying for the final of the European Senior Championships 2026, currently taking place in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Olympic champion continues her excellent form, advancing through all rounds to reach the final.
Her path to the final began with confident victories in the early stages, while in the quarterfinals she dominated her opponent to secure a place in the semifinals. In the semifinal, Krasniqi faced Italy’s Odette Giuffrida, defeating her by yuko after a very tough and tactical contest.
In the final, Krasniqi will face France’s Amandine Buchard in a highly anticipated clash for the European gold medal. The matchup revives a well-known rivalry on the international stage, where both judokas have previously delivered intense and closely contested bouts.
