Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that the Counting and Results Center is continuing the counting process of ballots from out-of-Kosovo voting, specifically postal voting, for the early parliamentary elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, reports KosovaPress.
According to the announcement, so far 131 out of 223 ballot boxes (58.74%) have been counted, in which the envelopes containing ballots were placed after being approved by the CEC voter service.
“According to the procedures, the envelopes that are presumed to contain ballots, after the evaluation process, were organized into 223 ballot boxes according to the municipalities from which the registered voters come,” the CEC stated.
Postal voting was made possible from May 21 to June 6, 2026, while around 105,000 citizens of Kosovo were registered to vote by mail.
A day earlier, the CEC completed the evaluation process of 85,790 suspected ballot envelopes, of which 82,809 were approved, while 2,981 were rejected.
These envelopes were collected from CEC post offices in 22 different countries, as well as from the CEC post box in Kosovo.
According to preliminary results from the CEC for the June 7 elections, Vetëvendosje came first, winning 52 seats, or 45.91% (353,119 votes).
The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) came second with 22 seats, or 19.95% (153,437 votes). The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) came third with 19 seats or 17.03% (131,027 votes), while the Alliance came fourth with 7 seats or 6.89% (52,963 votes).
