The Constitutional Court may issue a statement this week regarding the decision on the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo, even though the interim measure expires on September 30, say experts on the justice system. According to them, the Court could publish the announcement by Friday, and then the full ruling next week, when the interim measure also expires.
KosovaPress has sent questions to the Constitutional Court regarding the possibility of the institution publishing the announcement on the potential decision for the constitutive session before September 30, but the Court only emphasized that “the request of the Serbian List is under review and that all parties involved, as well as the citizens, will be notified in due time of any decision.”
Meanwhile, the Vetëvendosje Movement remained silent on the matter on Tuesday, while the Democratic League of Kosovo told KosovaPress that they will respect any decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo.
On September 5, the Constitutional Court issued an interim measure until September 30, which prohibits elected members of the Assembly from taking actions or proceeding with the formation of a new government, following a complaint from the Serbian List regarding the vote for the Serbian deputy speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo.
Researcher at the Democratic Institute of Kosovo (KDI), Vullnet Bugaqku, told KosovaPress that it is expected that the Constitutional Court will issue a statement before September 30, when the interim measure also expires.
