Abdixhiku: The executive amnesties Martin Berishaj and rehabilitates Oliver Ivanovic
The President of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has written that Ambassador Martin Berishaj continues to receive the unreserved protection of the executive only because he has close political ties with them. On the other hand, Oliver Ivanovic, who according to him, was sentenced to 9 years in prison for the murder and persecution of civilian Albanians in the north of the country, today is described by the government as 'the man who worked for a stable future of a multi-ethnic Kosovo'.
Abdixhiku asked if this is the change that Kosovo needed.
"To amnesty the corrupt just because they are connected to power, and to rehabilitate war and post-war criminals because they are now in power. What makes these populists different from the evil that had suffocated this country? Scandals like these cannot be passed over in silence. They cannot be shut down even by the noise of the power's incompetence. We will continue to demand dismissal for the former and an apology for the painful promotion of the latter," he wrote.
